Welcome to the WVAIA

Waterville Valley, NH is a hiker's paradise! Surrounded by 4000' peaks and 770,000 acres of the White Mountain National Forest, Waterville is home to the oldest network of hiking trails in North America.

In 1888, a group of guests staying at the Elliot's Hotel , formed the Waterville Valley Athletic and Improvement Association— the WVAIA. Its objective was "to encourage all healthful exercise and afford facilities thereto."

Today,the WVAIA continues in that mission, supporting hiking trails , as well as fly fishing, croquet and social gatherings for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy all that Waterville Valley, NH, has to offer.
